Obituary of Mary A. Vance
Mary Vance passed away on Friday, June 16th at the age of 93. Mary was born in West Tampa in 1929 to Maria Lopez and Cassimiro Cacciatore and grew up in a busy household that was always filled with family.
She remained in the area to raise her only child, Barbara, and served as her Girl Scout Troop Leader and President of the PTA.
She spent her career working in retail, where she met her beloved husband Curtis at age 41. Throughout her adult life, she also spent time in New Jersey, Minnesota, and Ohio, before moving to be near her family in Brevard County, Florida.
Mary loved animals and was active in her church. She was a talented craftswoman who created many needlepoint projects that will continue to be cherished by her family. Her clever sense of humor only sharpened with age, endearing her to all who were fortunate enough to meet her.
“Nanny” will be missed greatly by: her daughter Barbara (Bruce), her grandchildren Dawn/Misty (Stan), Julie (Brett), Jennifer (Peter) and Todd (Hannah); and her great-grandchildren Sam, Matthew and Owen, and her nephew and niece Mark and Melissa.
