Obituary of Clinton John Babbitt

Clinton John Babbitt (61) of Melbourne, FL, passed away on June 20th, 2023.

Born December 3, 1961. Clint was born & raised in Athol, MA. Clint had a fondness for the outdoors and loved to hunt, fish, camp, and all other outdoor sporting. He was truly the Jack of all Trades, he could fix literally anything, Clint was an avid mechanic, plumber, painter, electrician, but his favorite craft was carpentry.  Prior to moving to Florida with his wife in October 2001, he worked for many years at Duall Plastics, and Girardi’s Distributing, both in Athol, MA.

Clint is survived by the love of his life Julia Rose (Rathburn) Babbitt. He married Julia on June 20, 1981. The two had a bond that was unbreakable, and they were married 42 years to the day. Together they have a daughter who he loved dearly. Always proud of Traci (Babbitt) Radcliff, claiming her as “his greatest masterpiece” he was always proud of her and took pride in teaching her how to fix things, fish, or just give her life advice. Traci’s husband Timothy D. Radcliff was so loved by Clint. The two were both avid hunters and enjoyed fishing together. Clint always loved teaching Tim his skills and considered him the son he never had. There was never a dull moment when these two were up to no good. Traci and Tim have two children Madisyn and Hunter. Clint was so proud of both grandchildren. He and Madisyn shared a birthday which he was so proud of. He and Madisyn had a special bond when the two were together there was always laughter. He was so proud of her independence and her ability to make good choices. Clint and Hunter shared a special bond as well. He loved to teach Hunter how to use tools or paint with him. When he was young Hunter wanted to be a “working man” like Grandpa. He and Hunter would love to make a chicken nuggets together. Clints favorite dish to make with Madisyn and Hunter was pizza, because they had dough wars with the leftover dough.

Clint was strong willed and most who knew him knew not to mess with him. However, he also had a soft side, enormous heart, and wonderful sense of humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained through all of his life experiences: mechanic, fisherman, carpenter, he could fix or build anything. His eyes always told his emotions and his smile was genuine. He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them- and if you knew him, you knew it. When his time came, he carried himself with dignity, strength, and full of love.

In typical Clint fashion, there are no services, He certainly was a no pomp and circumstance man.
