Obituary of Douglas Charles Persse
Douglas Charles Persse Satellite Beach - Douglas C. Persse, 80, of Satellite Beach, FL formerly of Jordan-Elbridge, NY. Passed away unexpectedly July 21st, 2023. Doug/Poppy was born in Syracuse, NY on January 6th, 1943, to Marie and William Persse. Doug married the love of his life Nancy Miller, November 14th, 1964, together they raised three children. Doug/Poppy had a quick wit and could always share a joke and make you smile. He cherished his family and friends beyond words and loved his animals. Doug graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy class of 1961. He started his career as a custom home builder, graduating to commercial construction management before retiring to Satellite Beach, FL in 1995. Survived by his beloved wife Nancy, of 59 years; his three children Amy Ryan-LeRoy (James) of Marcellus, NY; Stephen Persse (Michelle) of Marathon, NY; and Derek Persse (Julie) of Clay NY. Grandchildren Trevor Ryan (Brooke) of Marcellus NY; Gradon Ryan (Kylie) of Cincinnatus NY; Shawna Fay (Jonathan) of Marcellus, NY; Logan Persse, Justin Persse, and Brandon Persse of Clay, NY; Rachel Persse and Sierra Persse of Marathon, NY. Along with 4 great-grandchildren; his siblings, Robert Persse and Christine Luto. Doug was the rock of the family and has left a void in every person that knew him. A remembrance was held in Satellite Beach, a graveside service will be held in Skaneateles, NY at a later date. Memorial Donations can be made to Brevard Humane Society, Cocoa Beach, FL; or an animal shelter near you.
