Obituary of George Logan Rayfield

Obituary for George Logan Rayfield:

Indialantic Beach, Florida:  George Logan “Ricky” Rayfield went home to be with his God Saturday, August 12, 2023, at Holmes Hospital.  He died doing what he lived and loved to do – meditating by the ocean with his friends.

He was the son of the late Logan Elmore Rayfield and Corrie Rayfield Woods.  He was a loving father, grandfather, and a friend to all who knew him.  He also was a member of the 82nd Airborne special forces and received a special award from the government for his efforts as a demolitions expert.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia “Ginger” Rayfield and his older brother, Rusty Rayfield.  He is survived by his loving, devoted daughter, Scarlett Rayfield of Cross Hill SC and her husband, Butch Phillips; a granddaughter, Brittany Cavender of Gaffney SC and her husband, Billy Cavender; a grandson, Logan Fuller, of Conover NC; 3 great grandchildren, Stormi Cavender, Kimber Cavender, and Garrett Cavender, all of Gaffney SC; 2 sisters, Robin Koski, FL, and Shirley Jo Curry of Palm Bay FL; a brother, Phillip Woods of Elizabeth City NC; a special step daughter, Dr. Sharon Miller and her husband, Rod Troxel of The Woodlands, Texas, their daughter, Maggie Miller, and son, Grant Gibson; and his special loved one, Allyson Rayfield of Knoxville TN.

Ricky was an amazingly talented person who has lived many different experiences and excelled in all areas of his life – personal, spiritual, professional career and his military career.

Ricky devoted his time and energy to being a friend and a blessing to all.  He faithfully spent his mornings seeking God with his feet in the Atlantic Ocean and welcoming everyone to some spiritual healing by the salty waters as he would say, “ALL THERE IS IS LOVE.”

There will be a gathering of Ricky’s friends and family at Paradise Beach Park at 6:30am on Saturday, August 19 for the morning meditation reading and ocean swim.  This will be followed by a memorial from 8am until 12pm at the large pavilion.  Food will be provided, but feel free to bring some.  Please share your pictures and stories of Ricky at this event
