Obituary of Roger L. Marcott

In the early morning of September 15, 2023 Roger Marcott passed away peacefully at his home in Indian Harbour Beach after a courageous battle with Merkel cell cancer, he was 85 years old.

Roger was born in 1938 to Raymond and Maggie Marcott in Kansas City, MO. He joined the Air Force right after High School and served for 22 years. He met his wife Rita while stationed in England in 1958 and was married for 65 years.

After retiring from the USAF he worked with the Space Shuttle Program at Cape Canaveral for another 20 years.

Roger loved his family and friends and was always there to lend a helping hand. He had a great sense of humor and liked to have fun. He enjoyed fishing, scuba diving, sports, and BBQ’s by the pool.

He will forever be missed by all.

Roger is survived by his wife Rita Marcott, daughter Jackie Gurley, son – in –law Scott Turner, and grandchildren Holly Marcott, Coty Marcott Turner, Tanner Gurley and Chase Gurley. Also a brother, Douglas Marcott and many nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by his son Roger Dale Marcott and daughter Tracey Marcott Turner.

Service will be Friday September 29 at 200: PM at Beach Funeral Home
