Rosario "Charo" Heffner

Obituary of Rosario "Charo" Duesca Heffner

Rosario "Charo" Duesca Heffner, age 83, of Satellite Beach passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 and was surrounded by her loving family. She was a devoted wife, a very loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Charo was born and raised in Zaragoza, Spain and grew up amongst her adoring family. When she met her husband Ken, she soon became a military wife and had the opportunity to venture the world and shared a life together lasting for 62 years. Upon Ken’s retirement from the United States Air Force of 22 years, they decided to live the rest of their days in Satellite Beach, Florida.

Charo was an enamored wife and extremely loyal to her family. As a committed mother, she was honest, generous, incredibly wise, and understanding, but with a no-nonsense attitude. She was very practical and always there when you needed her. Charo also exuded confidence and raised her children to be strong along with a high sense of integrity. She was overjoyed to be a grandmother and would spoil each grandchild as much as she possibly could. She recently became a great grandmother and was absolutely proud of her family growing.

Charo had an incredible passion for sewing and was a master steamstress. As she was a very stylish lady, she made clothes for her entire family and some of most beautiful wedding dresses for both her daughters that are still remembered and talked about to this day.  In her free time, she was a staunch gardener and had a very creative gift with knitting and cross-stitching. At one point in her life, she worked as a teacher’s assistant at DeLaura Junior High for several years then later became a regional manager for Fabric King stores for a number of years. Once she learned that she was to become a grandmother, she thereafter dedicated her time to enjoy life with all of her grandchildren. She had utmost respect by many friends and will be remembered by neighbors as a kind-hearted person.

Her loving memory will be living through her husband Kenneth Heffner of 62 years, daughters Cristina Carlson and Teresa McLamb with husband Robert McLamb, grandchildren Kevin McLamb with fiancé Erin McDonald, Adriana Collucio and husband Dominic Cullucio, and Maria Broaddus with husband Sam Broaddus along with great granddaughter Cynthia Rose Broaddus.
