Obituary of Nancy Lee Conover

Nancy Lee Conover (82) Born 2 June 1941, transitioned from this world to a higher place with her God on 20 September 2023. Nancy a professional banker for over 45 years in New Jersey, Maryland and Florida worked her way from Teller to Vice President. She came face to face with bank robbers. Nancy coordinated between the bank and IBM for its first computer, as well as worked with the FBI to root out bank embezzlers. As a recognized and awarded pioneer for Women’s rights in banking, was active in the first all-woman bank in Maryland. Nancy was a star athlete and memorialized in the Riverside High School Sports Hall of Fame in NJ.

She was an avid camper, hiker, sailor, traveler and artist. In her earlier years she, with three girlfriends, took 3 months to travel and tent camp covering all 48 States in the continent.  She is survived by three married brothers, Jan & Joyce (PA.), Gerret & Eileen (TX.) and Frank & Melissa (FL.) and had 6 nieces and nephews, and 13 grand nieces and nephews. As a very active volunteer with many organizations, one stands out with Big Brothers and Sisters where she mentored a young Vietnamese boy, nurtured him by teaching him how to sail a boat, backpack, camp, Boy Scout activities and helped him select a college with scholarships.

There will be a 1:00 PM Celebration of Life at the church located at 450 Lee Ave, Satellite Beach, Fl. 32937 on 28 October 2023. As a member of Satellite Beach United Methodist Church, her ashes will forever be located in the Memorial Garden by family only at a separate time.
