Obituary of Anne E. Duvall

Maude “Anne” Duvall, age 83, of Indian Harbour Beach, Florida, passed peacefully on January 25, 2024, in Melbourne, Florida. Anne the oldest of 3 children was born on March 1, 1940 in Creston, North Carolina to William “Bill” Eggers and Mildred “Jean”. In 1957 Anne married the love of her life, William “Bill” M. Duvall of Grassy Creek, NC. For 23 years, they spent their lives traveling the world with the United States Air Force. In 1971 Anne became a member of Beta Sigma Phi International also known as “The Friendship Organization”. Anne selflessly served the community for 53 years while holding multiple officer positions during her membership.

 

In 1978 Anne moved to Indian Harbour Beach, FL where she worked in banking until she retired in 2005 from Bank of America. Anne became a certified PADI Advanced Scuba Diver in 1981, she loved traveling to dive destinations with her husband, children and grandchildren until 2005. She loved cooking for family and friends as well as experimenting with recipes from her extensive collection of cookbooks. 

 

 Anne is predeceased by her husband Bill in 2010, after 53 years of marriage. She is survived by 3 children, her loving son, William “Bill” R. Duvall and Tamara J. of Apopka, Florida, daughter, Jill D. and Douglas K. Lego, of Sandy Springs, Georgia, son, James “Steven” Duvall and Tracey A. of Indialantic, Florida; 7 grandchildren, Nicole (Joe) Hills of Winter Park, FL and Sean Duvall of Dallas, TX, Taylor (Gabe) Hyde of Sandy Springs, GA and Ashton (Bret) Briggs of Marietta, GA, Charles, Daniel and Gracey Duvall, of Indialantic, FL; 2 brothers Billy (Genie) Eggers of Grassy Creek, NC and Jim Eggers of Redding, CA along with 7 great-grandchildren, Henley and Halston Hills, Wills and Brack Hyde, RD, Collier and Mollie Briggs.  

 

Anne is now diving deep with her favorite dive buddy and husband among her sea turtle friends in waters that we cannot see. 

 

 “There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number - living things both large and small.” Psalms 104:6 

 

 The family is asking in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Laureate Epsilon Xi of Beta Sigma Phi. Supporting organizations close to her heart: South Brevard Sharing Center, Promise of Brevard and Genesis House.  A memorial service will be held Friday February 2, 2024, 1:00 pm Visitation and 2:00 pm Service at Beach Funeral Home in Indian Harbour Beach.  

 

Interment Services will be held at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery, Mims, Florida, at a later date.
