Robert Pruss

Obituary of Robert Stanley Pruss

Robert (Bob) Stanley Pruss passed away on February 7, 2024 after a two and a half year battle with medullary thyroid cancer.  Bob knew from the start the cancer was not curable and he remained strong throughout the fight.  He died peacefully at home with his wife, Marilyn, and his son, Richard, by his side.

Bob spent his career working as an operations manager for several companies and wherever he worked he was always making process improvements which was his special talent no matter what the industry.  When working for NSG America in New Jersey as the Senior Vice President of Manufacturing, Engineering and Supply Chain Management, he travelled to Japan and the Philippines many times.  Everyone he worked with thought he was an engineer since he had the engineering aptitude even though his bachelor’s degree was in Human Resources.  He has always been so proud of his two sons, Rob and Richard, for becoming engineers since he always told them that was the best career to be successful.

Bob also was a real estate agent and worked for several different brokers until he retired in 2020.

Bob was a man of many talents and could build and fix anything.  He worked on cars, air conditioners, and did all home repairs.  If he didn’t know how to fix something he would look it up and be able to fix it.  He shared his talents with the neighbors and always helped them out with their needs.  He passed along this special talent to both of his sons.

Bob’s greatest joy in life was his family and making sure he took care of everyone.  Watching his grandchildren grow these past years has been very special and kept him fighting so he could be here longer to watch them grow.

Bob is pre-deceased by his parents, Paul and Pearl Pruss.  He is survived by Marilyn, his wife of 46 years; Robert and daughter-in-law Lucy (grandchildren Ayrton, Jenson, and Lily); Richard and daughter-in-law Brenna (grandchildren Mason and Maxwell).  He is also survived by his siblings Paul M. Pruss and Mary Lou Hornaday and several nieces and nephews.
