Obituary of Lawrence Bernard Jordan

Lawrence Bernard Jordan (Larry); age 85; passed away unexpectedly on March 23rd while cruising with his wife Karen in the Caribbean.  Larry was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 14, 1938, the son of Anton and Loretta Jordan.  He served in the U.S. Army.  He met and married his wife of 60 years, Karen, while living in Northwest Indiana.  Larry worked as a welder and machinist and operated a custom machine shop after moving to Schaumburg, Illinois in 1970.  Larry and his family were avid boaters spending many summers cruising the shores of Lake Michigan.  This passion further developed when the family moved to Melbourne in 1990 and began operating Pineda Point Marina which is located on the Indian River just north of the Pineda Causeway.  Besides boating, Larry enjoyed bowling and traveling.  Larry and Karen had many memorable cruising experiences including the glaciers of Alaska, passage through the Panama Canal and rounding Cape Horn at the tip of South America.

Larry was preceded in death by his son Tracy and his brother Anthony.  He is survived by his wife Karen; two sons, Larry (Wendy), and Scott; and 5 grandchildren Kyle (Julie), Taylor, Amy (Nick), Zach and Zoe.
