Our deepest condolences to Edith and all the family for their great loss. Coach Aiken was a beloved teacher of mine (driver’s ed) and coach of my husband, Richard. Even though I got an “A” in driver’s ed, I hated to drive and didn’t get my license for
five years. He continually and good-naturedly harassed me about it for the rest of my life up til and including our last reunion at the SHSSuper60s two years ago. Richard and I enjoyed
visiting him and Edith at their home over the years whenever we came into town sitting on their lanai overlooking the golf course. One of my favorite memories is of Coach Aiken and Coach Dan Thweat surprising me numerous times by having me paged to the Broward Hall lobby at UF where we would sit and talk and reminisce (usually about my license!). Most recently, Richard and I saw him a year or so, maybe 2018 or ‘19, prior to the reunion and for the last time at the reunion where he constantly was surrounded by former classmates piling on the love. He was one of our best memories of our time at Satellite High and we
truly will miss him. May his memory be for a blessing.
