Dear Lorna, Karen, and Rachel, We send our sincerest sympathy to you and your families. We always felt John was a part of our family as every year we looked forward to his visit to ski in Steamboat. Our girls looked at him as their second grandfather and always called him Big John. He was their Ski Buddy. We will miss John more than words can express. Our best to all of you at this most difficult time. God Bless!

Aunt Lorna, Karen, and Rachel, Best of memories when Aunt Lorna and Uncle Johnny had Thanksgiving in Berlin Germany the year 1956. The year 1957, Easter vacation to Italy and a trip though Austria when i got a ticket for not stopping. Uncle Johnny says why you no stop? Memories I'll never forget. Ursula and I enjoyed his visits to Kansas. We will miss him very much.

Like so many others who were drawn to John by his sincerity and love of life, I am deeply grieved by his passing. As a DoDDS teacher, I was fortunate to work with John in Bitburg, 1967-1969--I often think with great delight of those wonderful years. Please know that you are very much in my thoughts and prayers at this time of sorrow.

My heart is with the family. John was one of the kindest and most giving person I have ever met. I worked with him at the Melbourne Police Dept. He was always so full of life and gave so much back to the life he lived. This world has lost a beautiful person who left an ever lasting effect on so many lives. God Bless his family for sharing him with us.

Rachel and Karen, I am so glad to have known your dad for a little while while stationed in Bitburg. I know how hard it is to lose a parent. I lost my father in January of this year. Please accept my sympathies and my prayers for him and for the two of you.

Please except our condolences for the passing of your husband, father and grandfather...2 of our 5 children went to Bitburg Elementary from 1966-69 and we were so pleased with the school, I am sure due to John being the Principal. There is something very special about a person who works with children...thank you John...God Bless you and your entire family...our prayers are with all of you. Bruce and Sandra McDaniel
