Obituary of John F. Bauman
John F. Bauman, 90, of Indian Harbour Beach, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, October 9, 2011. He was born in Kansas and served in the 1st Infantry Div. during WWII. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star. After the war, he became and educator and was the principal of the Dept. of Defense schools for children of the military in Europe and Asia for 30 years.
John and his wife moved to the Melbourne area upon retirement and for 25 years he served as a volunteer for numerous groups including the Liberty Bell Museum, Police Dept., and Meals on Wheels. They attended Holy Apostle Episcopal Church in Satellite Beach.
He leaves behind his wife of 66 years; Lorna, children; Karen of Ft. Pierce and Rachel of Crystal Lake, IL, 3 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of John's life will be held at 1:00 p.m., on Monday, October 17, 2011 at Holy Apostles Episcopal Church.
