I just read about the recent death of your loved one. The Bible calls death an enemy and that is certainly how it strikes us, as an enemy. Take comfort in knowing that the loving God who created us did not want us to suffer in tears of pain. “He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. And the reproach of his people He will take away from all the earth, for God himself has spoken [it].” Isaiah 25:8. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories, as well as these few words, bring you a measure of comfort.

We were deeply saddened to learn of the death of Uncle Bill. He was a warm and caring man who valued his family, his country and his faith. The patriarch of the Rothamel family was known to his sisters as "Our Bill" and by his nieces and nephews as Uncle Bill. His care and concern for others was never in doubt and he balnced it all with a mischevous sense of humour that kept his loved ones always on their toes. -Barbara J. Dies Doud, Bob Doud & Family

On behalf of all Submariners, past and present, the free world owes you a debt of gratitude. As a WWII veteran, you are a True American Hero. Rest in peace, we have the watch. There is a port of no return, where ships May ride at anchor for a little space And then, some starless night, the cable slips, Leaving an eddy at the mooring place . . . Gulls, veer no longer. Sailor, rest your oar. No tangled wreckage will be washed ashore William (Bill) Andrea USSVI

So sorry to hear of Uncle Bill's passing. He was a good man. Yet another warrior from that greatest generation moving on to a well earned eternal rest. Thank God for people like him, and the others who sacrificed so much for our freedom, and that of the whole world. Wherever you are Uncle Bill, we hope you have calm seas and a strong wind at your stern. You can rest easy now. Lord knows you earned it.
