I met Jim online in '02 while planning the BT54 affair. He told me many times over the years how much he and Kat enjoyed the evening, seeing old school friends, and meeting new ones he met online. We didn't have much chance to meet in real life, but all of us enjoyed his many posts of memories, opinions, football, politics and tales of MDPD. He was so in love with Kat (LQ, fondly), and Kat, you have been so devoted to him over the years. So many times I get an email, and I think to forward it to him, knowing how he'd enjoy that. Thanks, Kat for sharing Jim with his online friends. God Bless!

Good bye to a true friend for 41 years. An enduring friendship that began long before MDPD, and was forged over many years of fishing, car racing and simply "paling" around together. You will be truly missed, and Kat, our heart and prayers go out to you. I can't recall the number of times he told me that you were the best thing that ever happened to him.

We were so sorry to hear about Jim's death. John and I both worked midnights at the Airport with Jim for years. He always had a funny story to tell to keep us all amused. We think of him often as we recall the many fun nights we all spent together. He will be greatly missed.

Jim and I were partners in Central District for many shifts. You know how it is when you just sort of hit it off with a riding partner. We clicked from the beginning. I'll miss his unique sense of humor that really made my day many times over. He was a cop's cop that gave his all. He often talked about how much he enjoyed his retirement and being with his family. My deepest condolences to Kathleen and the entire Leggett family.

I knew Jim during our years at MDPD, and corresponded with him quite a bit since our retirement. He was a good man, and a straight shooter. He will be missed. Rest in peace, Jim.

I was so very sorry to hear of our loss. I 'met' Jim on a genealogy site about 6 years and have remained friends since then. He shared all the family information he had with me freely and we worked on our 'David Leggett' problem often. We share the same Great Great Grandfather in John Franklin Leggett and enjoyed lots of online time with our ghosts. It was through him that I 'met' many other wonderful members of our clan. He spoke often of his love for his 'Leprechaun Queen' and how, in his words, she had saved him. I will miss our conversations. He was a very interesting man.

My husband and I wish to express our sympathy in the passing of your special one who meant so much. Art is also a Mason and Shrine and understands the commitments Jim has made. I was surprised to learn that Jim was born in Panama City. This is where my Grandmother, who was a Leggett, lived from 1950 until her death. I lived there myself and went to school for three years, 1954, 1955, and 1956. In remembrance for someone so special. Kathryn & Art Lent
