Dear Danny and your family, I will always remember the day 30 years ago when Dr Dan told me to quit smoking my 2 packs a day or there would be another woman raising my beautiful daughters...I was 36 years old at the time, and thanks to Dr. Dan, I have never smoked since and I now enjoy excellent health...May God watch over you as you grieve this wonderful man. Dr. Beirne Family, Please accept my deepest condolences for the loss of Dr. Beirne. He was very special to me for many years. When I was ill he came to the house and called every day sometimes twice to make sure I was alright. No other Doctor would ever do this. I loved his humor but his kindness overwhelmed me. I will miss him dearly. Rest in peace dear Doctor.

Uncle Dan was an awesome man and will be missed. I keep remembering a picture I once saw of Dad and Uncle Dan on his boat...it was a good day. May they all be good days now. My thoughts and prayers are with you and my love to all. Mary

Dr. Dan as a good friend, strong family man, and proud Marine. He remains in our memory as as a combat Veteran of the Korean War, a comrade with a great sense of humor, straightforward love for our country and one who stood by his friends gave strong support to his fellow Veterans. To Shirley and the family we want you to know that Dan and you are in out thoughts and prayers.

Dear Beirne Family, I am so sorry for your loss, what a character Dr. Bierne was. I really loved him a lot and will always remember how sweet he always was to me. Dr. Bierne always made me smile. Whenever he came to visit "the girls" at USAirways in MLB, we fought over who got to take care of him and if we were lucky, Shirley was there too! The trips the Beirne Family took together to Europe, to Vermont, and to wherever else the wind blew must give you wonderful memories of a life lived well. He will be missed by everyone who had the privelege of knowing him. Love and God Bles each of you through this sad time, Frances Berryhill Garrity

Dear Beirne Family, I am so very sorry for your loss. Dr. Beirne and the entire Beirne family played such an important part in our lives. When our dad passed away, you all were a lifeline to my Mom, "Nurse Ruth". You adopted her and the rest of us and took such good care of us all. In my annual trip to Melbourne Beach (and the Blueberry Muffin) with my daughters a few years ago, I took a side trip to show them the doctor's office where Grandma Ruth worked. It still said "Dr. Beirne" on the sign. Imagine my surprise when I found out that the Dr. was "Danny" Beirne and not Daniel K. Beirne. I think the nurses had a good giggle when I called him Danny. I left a note which I hope you received. While we have lost touch over the years, you have not left our hearts and our memories. I'm sure Mom has a cocktail waiting for Dr. Beirne and they will have some good laughs catching up and watching over us. I hope you all know the impact that Dr. Beirne and all of you had in our lives. He was a very special man as part of a very special family. While you have my deepest sympathies, I hope you celebrate a life well lived. All of my best, Lisa (Scholle) Kaufmann

To Shirley and all the family: Many fond memories of Uncle Dan and his 'big' personality, when my dad sent me over on the plane from Scotland to holiday in Florida, as a girl. I remember how he taught me to swim, by literally throwing me in at the deep end! Time to rest now, Dan. May your journey home be a peaceful one. Sending love and light to you all.

On behalf of the City of Indian Harbour Beach, we extend our deepest sympathy to the family of our beloved Dr. Beirne. This City was so very lucky to have had Dr. Beirne volunteer to be our special doctor for our Police Department for many years until his retirement. He was always available to us, no matter what the problem - whether for flu shots, significant illnesses, family problems, injuries, first responder support/documentation, etc. His great sense of humor also helped to ease the stress inherent in a police officer's job. He WAS a part of our City family for so many years. Our heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to Lady Beirne and his entire family! Very sincerely, Jackie Burns
