John, You have always been and will continue to be on my mind and close to my heart. I have endless fond memories of growing up as your younger brother. You unknowingly created a neighborhood full of boys who were very skilled baseball batters by introducing us to fast pitch baseball using a small plastic golf ball and a one inch wide plastic bat. Through your life, you continued to touch lives and leave impressions that will last lifetimes. Thanks for the good times and life lessons you shared with me. Love always, Your brother Steve

When I think of John, I remember him as Joy's "kid" brother who liked to hang around with his sister and friends as we gathered in the kitchen of the Snyder home. There, we laughed and were bathed in the love and warmth that was always present in the Snyder home. I remember him as eager to take on life...frustrated that he wasn't old enough yet to do the things his sister and brother could. Apparently that eagerness stayed with him in his life and he eagerly embraced the role of a good husband, Dad, friend and citizen. The good words spoken of him are his testament. From my heart, I wish all the Snyders the courage to carry them through this very difficult time. I hope you can find comfort in the memories he gave you and all of us...and knowing with certainty that he is cradled in the arms of God. Remember too, that it is said that in Heaven, John rejoices upon each utterance of his name...he knew and still knows he is deeply loved. My prayers and thoughts are with you all. Love, Sara/Salli Cook

Roni, Ben, Emily, Annie, Tom, and Miss Jack, Words cannot express the profound sadness we feel about John's passing. He and the rest of the Snyder Family were such wonderful friends and neighbors to us when we lived in Florida. We cannot imagine the grief you are experiencing...but please know that you are and will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

No words can be spoken that will convey the overwhelming sadness that I am feeleing, upon hearing the news of Johns passing. Many times I sat in his office comparing places we had been in the world and the places that we would like to see before our days are done. I will carry you with me John as I continue my travels. Roni, I never met you, but how I feel I know you, you truly were the love of John's life. Everything he did in this life was for his family, I never met a man so proud of his family and their accomplishments. Tatty

I was a coworker of John's, first on the FDCA program and more recently on the GOES-R program. I am shocked and deeply saddened by his passing. He was always kind, positive, and an excellent engineer. (Someone will be assigned to his job, but NO ONE can take his place.) When I met John on FDCA, he was 'the guy' one had to contact for a system account...John got my account and equipment (the Hand Held Computer) up and running. It was late on a weekend night and he checked back in with me before he left work to ensure I was successfully up and running and could get to the material I was about to review. That was my introduction to John and it said it all about who he was...after a very long day, he still would think of others and make sure they were taken care of no matter how tired he must have been. My heart goes out to his family and friends, I hope you find comfort in your memories.

John, I will miss you terribly. I have so many memories of you growing up. The baseball games at the fields behind Mars supermarket, chess games on the front porch, the family vacations. All good memories of growing up together. I wish now that I had called more often, but not even time can take away my memories of you. You were a special person put on this earth for a short time to bring joy into the lives of so many people. No one will forget you, John, and know that we are looking out for your family left behind. Love, your brother, Tom.

I worked with John on the FDCA program in Largo, MD. From my first interaction with John, I knew that he was special. John was so kind, caring and thoughtful. He spoke so highly of his family. John was always so helpful as we worked 60+ hours to meet our deadlines. No matter what time of day or night, John always made himself available. Even after he finished his work on FDCA, John kept in touch. I hope that his family finds solace in the fact that John was thought so-highly of by his co-workers. May God continue to bless you and keep you during this time.

It was incredibly shocking and sad to hear of John's passing. He was such a friendly man at OTE rock climbing gym, I am thankful I met him. My prayers go out to Roni, John's kids and family. I pray that fond memories comfort you during this difficult time. He will certainly be missed at the gym. Sincerely, Liz German
