Obituary of Edith R. Bryant
Edith R. Bryant, a devout Christian went to her heavenly home on Sunday July 3,2011. Born to B. P. and Bessie Russum January 29, 1917 in Magnolia , Mississippi. Predeceased by her loving husband Ermon Bryant, and son, Gene Bryant.
Edith graduated from Mississippi State College for Women with a degree in English and secondary education. She pursued post graduate work in Library Science at University of Mississippi and the University of Southern Mississippi.
Edith met and married Ermon in Hattiesburg, MS in 1945. She moved with her family to Fort Walton Beach, FL in 1952 and then to Satellite Beach in 1961, where she resided for the past 50 years.
Edith spent over 40 years as a dedicated Secondary English teacher and librarian. For 20 years following retirement in 1983 She traveled the US, including Alaska, with Ermon in their RV.
Edith was an avid reader and looked forward to reading 2 newspapers daily and many books. She also loved the Orlando Magic and never missed a televised game.
Edith loved her family, had a wonderful sense of humor and always encouraged her family to laugh and smile.
She will be missed by all who knew her and her loving family, Daughters Judy (Fred) Hart, Jan (John) Tegethoff, Daughter-in law Sheryl Bryant, Grandchildren Teri Speck, Eric Tegethoff, Brian and Rodney (Angel) Love and great-grandchild, Jimmy Speck.
An open house will be held in respect of Edith from 2 to 4 PM, on July 16th, 2011 at her home in Satellite Beach.
