W. J. \"Bud\" Meyer posted a condolence

I want to express my deepest sympathy to the family of "Hap" Habovick. While I had not seen him for quite some time, we had many fine talks over the years, dating back to the 1970s. In our lifetime, we occasionally meet a few persons who just seem to stand out - above others.. "Hap" was one such person. He was warm, compassionate, caring and above all interested in helping others. Always met you with a big "smile on his face" It was a pleasure to be with him and talk with him. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family. Sincerely, W. J. "Bud" Meyer, US Army (ret)

Thoughts and prayers go out to the Habovick family. I am proud to say that I was lucky enough to have known him and be part of his coaching during his time with the Mets. He was also a great friend to Mr. and Mrs. G., my grandparents. He made a big influence of many peoples' lives and a great asset to the community. RIP Hap.
